Nice jar August 23, 2010 D. Fritz (Lansdale, PA, US) bought this to add to the creation of a candy station at my daughter's wedding. The wedding isn't until next June but I am beginning early. This jar is nice, good quality, thick glass and a nice sturdy lid. I definitely recommend it if that is what you are looking for.
great jars August 8, 2010 Liz This a wonderful glass jar. It is very easy to clean and is much easier to add and remove product because you don't have unscrew a lid so it makes it very accessible. It is perfect for flour and sugar-things you buy in the bulk as it holds a lot. Would recommend these jars to anyone. I also like it because you don't know what poisons you are getting from the plastic storage.
nice design, good price May 9, 2010 hydeparkchi (Tacoma, WA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've purchased 8 of these jars total, in the 2, 1 and 0.5 gallon sizes.
Pros:
1. Good, simple glass design.... stable, pretty hard to tip when filled with ingredient...... wide mouth that makes it easy for reaching in and scooping out
2. Glass material is so much more satisfying than plastic kitchen containers, which seem to be the norm
3. Cheap price, especially compared with other glass jars available from places like Sur la Table
4. Sturdy; unlike other reviewer I've never had a problem with these jars breaking in the past 2 years I've owned them. The glass is relatively thick and the lids are in fact sturdy and have survived being dropped a few times...
Cons:
1. Like another reviewer has noted, some of them come with cosmetic defects like bubbles, or an imbalanced lip
2. There's no seal/gasket.... they're useless for storing, for example, brown sugar
Perfect!!! May 2, 2010 C. D. Smith (Philadelphia, Pa.) This is just what I needed for those cookies that I can't bake. Works great for all of granola bars and other goodies too!!
Anchor Hocking 1 Gallon Jar April 17, 2010 A. Scalzo (San Jose, CA) The jars are very sturdy and have a good seal. they are perfect for staples like rice, flour and sugar. Because they are clear, you can easily see the contents without having to remove the lid.
