Oxo Pop --dry food storage August 29, 2010 nitpat These containers are excellent for dry food storage. My only complaint is that when I attempted to store cloves in one of them, the container's inside finish became scratched and hazy. not sure why this reaction occurred, but be warned that one should NOT store cloves or any other type of moist pungent type of herbs/spices in these containers.
Not that good August 25, 2010 Mediahound (SF Bay Area, CA United States) Oxo advertises theses as being 'air tight' however they are anything but airtight. With the lids closed, I can easily pull them off when in the locked position.
I opted for this instead (found at my local warehouse store for $28.!): Snapware 18pc Glasslock Tempered Glass Storage Containers 18piece Set with Lids. That is a much better set since they close air tight and they are glass instead of all plastic.
OXO POP set August 16, 2010 Deep Thoughts Bought a sample one at my local Kohl's, and fell in love! Great air-tight seal without the trouble and broken nails of Tupperware. Easy enough for anyone in the family to use (arthritis-friendly!), easy to see through. Only 2 potential problems - the tallest is too tall for my crappy pantry, and the containers are acrylic, and therefore a bit fragile -- I doubt it would survive a fall. If your family is hard on containers, you might want something else, but we love them. I used the smallest ones for sugar and brown sugar at a family gathering, and my mother-in-law and both sisters-inlaw adored them!
Just be careful when you search for them. OXO makes POP and TOP containers, and I think the POP are vastly superior!
Oxo good grips 10-piece August 3, 2010 christine Definitely easy to use. I store alot different kinds of whole grains and I use them everyday. When I store my food in good grips. I know they are seal tight and staying fresh.
Great for organization July 30, 2010 Miloo 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The 10 piece set is pricy for plastic, but it provides a variety of sizes, stacks nicely and is still cheaper than purchasing the pieces individually. There are numerous parts to wash for one container (the pop portion, gasket, underside of the lid, container itself), and you should make sure they are dry before putting them together. The lids take up quite a bit of space within the containers, and it is more apparent for the smaller ones. They cannot be over-stuffed; otherwise, the lid partially close but will not create a vacuum between the lid and the container.
I am not the most organized person around; however, these make me feel as if there is organization in the kitchen, stacks nicely and presents simple ingredients well.
